A new financial software product that is web-based will be launched in Sri Lanka next week.
Offering accessibility to financials through multiple means, for example "the Internet, mobile telephony, PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants), and electronic dashboards"; the product, Proteus Financials, will utilise a browser programme to provide access to modules such as General Ledger, Sales Ledger, Sales Invoicing, Purchase Ledger, Cash Book, Fixed Assets and Reporting.
Meanwhile, the software was jointly developed by Proteus Software UK and Kingslake, the latter which, according to its website, counts Dilmah as a client. Said to be "ideal for mid to large organisations with multiple branches or with different types of businesses to ensure they are on top of their overall Financials on-line, real time", the launch will be attended by chief executives and chief financial officers.
Sri Lanka has been tapped for this product because, according to Proteus Software UK chief David Gray; “We strongly feel Sri Lanka claiming the 2nd highest number of CIMA qualified professional Accountants in the world, next to the UK, is the ideal location for Proteus Financials to be launched”. |
