This year Royal College is going all out to celebrate its 175th Anniversary in grand style.
To coincide with the anniversary celebrations the college is organizing a spectacular Parade on July 3 which will commence from the College gates at 3.30 pm.
The highlight of the day will be the 'Party on the Street' which will take place in Green Path at 7 pm. The last parade organized by the college was in 2003, where the funds were utilized to build the school's Skill Centre.
All funds generated by the parade and after party will be donated towards the development of the college's multi storeyed state-of-the-art indoor sports compound.
This year's parade and party is hoped to be one of the key fund-raisers for the indoor sports compound.
The Parade line-up comprises students and Old Boys who will represent their own groups. The parade will also feature other schools representing all areas of the country to help keep up the camaraderie.
The Party on the Street will be a typical street style promotion, where leading five star hotels, leading musical artistes accompanied by jazz bands and many more support groups have pledged their services and assistance towards the success of the event.
In addition to this the party will feature a spectacular fireworks display plus many more exciting fun-filled surprises adding spice to an evening of pure celebration.
It is estimated that the parade itself will comprise around 15,000 participants and the party which is a public event, is estimated to attract around 30,000 people.
Participation tickets for Old Boys and spouses for the parade, which entitles you to a souvenir and cap, are available at the college office and can also be purchased online.
The parade and party is a team effort of all current and old Royalists working together towards a much needed college development project, whilst making it an opportunity to unite and build friendship with other schools of the country.
The parade itself comprises magnificent floats each having their own theme and will be an ideal platform to portray their individualism to the rest of the world.
This will no doubt be the first time that the country will experience a street carnival of this magnitude, and therefore it is labelled as an event not to be missed.
