Local IT/BPO body Sri Lankan Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) recently announced the setting up of a mobile- and telecommunications-focused centre to facilitate "driving joint marketing, research and advance capacity building" for this vertical of the IT/BPO sector.
Further indicating that its membership already included Dinota IT, Eurocentre, hSenid, Informatics, Motorola, Sabre, Virtusa and Wavenet, SLASSCOM's announcement suggested that it invited participation by "leading solution providers, education institutes and service providers".
According to the body's Chairman, Dinesh Saparamadu of hSenid, this unit "is one of the verticals we have chosen after careful market study and internal strength analysis" and is in keeping with SLASSCOM's "national strategy [to] focus on several high poential niche areas to compete globally as a niche player". |
