A symposium on ‘Emerging Risks and New Patterns of Prevention for a Changing World of Work’ will be held to commemorate World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
Organized by the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) which falls under the Ministry of Labour Relations and Manpower, the symposium will focus on some significant features to be introduced through the proposed Occupational Safety and Health Act as well.
According to a press release by the EFC, the key note address will be made by Professor Ajith de Silva, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa who will speak on the topic of ‘Nano Technology and Safety at Work. The symposium is scheduled for 27 April at the Galadari Hotel. |
