ABC Extra Stout, a premium beer from the reputed Asia Pacific Breweries Ltd (APB) stable of popular brews, won the Bronze Medal under the Imperial Stout category at the recently-held ‘2010 World Beer Championship Awards’.
APB said in a press release that ABC Extra Stout, competing with other top beers from around the globe, was singled out for its “aroma of sweet toffee and honeyed biscuits follow through on a round entry to a lightly foamy, dryish medium body with dried citrus notes and a crisp, grainy malt fade” by certified professional beer judges, who rates the brews following an exhaustive evaluation process.
“With this triumph at the 2010 World Beer Championships, a consumer-focused competition devoted to finding and understanding great beers, APB Lanka once again strengthens its presence as a prominent player in the global beer industry,” noted Anton Rock Fernando, Chief Operating Officer of APB Lanka.
The ‘World Beer Championship’ is America’s oldest international beer.
Incorporated in 1998, APB Lanka operates a brewery in Mawathagama near Kurunegala and produces Anchor Pilsner, Baron's Strong Brew, ABC Stout, Baron's Lager and local beer brands including Bison XXXtra Strong and Kings Stout in Sri Lanka. |
