Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Sampath Widanapathirana and seven others arrested in connection with the killing of a British national and causing severe injuries to his Russian girlfriend on Christmas day at a hotel in Tangalle, have been further remanded till February 20.
Tangalle Magistrate and Additional District Judge Yuresha De Silva gave the order on Friday.
The other suspects are Weerappuliye Prageeth Chathuranga, Obada Arachchige Lahiru Kalum, Uduwarage Sampath Deshapriya, Mohottige Sarath alias Sahan, S.B. Janaka Chathuranga, H.V. Nuwan Chinthaka and E.V. Nadeera.
The Magistrate ordered to send the T-56 weapon, spent cartridges and liquor produced in Court by the Criminal Investigation Division, to the Government Analyst’s Department and to the Ragama Medical College for further examination. |
