Minister wants changes in Emirates deal
While a committee is urgently reviewing the SriLankan Airlines management agreement with Emirates, Civil Aviation Minister Tilak Marapana has also proposed some immediate changes in the deal.

National television is exploring the possibility of giving a live telecast of the news conference to be given in Kilinochchi by LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran on Wednesday. Rupavahini Director General Nimal Lakshapathiarachi said they were working on the ground work to telecast the media conference live via satellite.

Hakeem welcomes LTTE offer for peace talk
Minister and SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem yesterday welcomed an LTTE invitation for talks to discuss grievances of Muslims of the north and east. "Now that they have invited us we will certainly talk to them. Prior to that we will be discussing matters with community leaders representing other political groups," Mr. Hakeem said.
