 Sujatha Vidyalaya Nugegoda was established in 1965 by a pioneer educationist, Linton Kuruppu .The school completes 45 years of service to girls' education with honour in Nugegoda .
To mark this occasion an all-night Pirth ceremony and Dana for the monks was held with the participation of a large school community consisting of students, teachers, parents and management staff. Galaboda Gnanissara Nayaka thera of Gangaramaya, Hunupitiya, Colombo together with the monks led the religious ceremonies. The Anusasana was delivered by the Nayaka thera who blessed the students sitting the A/L examination in both English and Sinhala medium.
Sujatha Vidyalaya prides itself for giving a well balanced education to girls from Pre School to A/L upper school, with a high standard of English and enhanced knowledge and exposure to I.T. Over the years Sujatha students had performed exceedingly well in all public examinations.
The school has an experienced teaching staff, well qualified and committed to education , maintaining high standard .
The Ven. Nayake Thera in his Anusasana emphasized the importance of a sound education for girls as the most critical factor in nation building and facing the challenges of the modern world. He also drew the attention of teachers to the need of professional excellence in teaching.
